Traveling to Seattle & into Canada for a few days?

I'll be attending a Conference in July and want to build a vacation around it. Any suggestions for a couple in their 50's. We will be going to Butchart gardens, the Space Needle, Pikes Market and the San Juan Is. Any other suggestions.
